"Die Signatur der mat-Bücher setzt sich aus Grundsignatur und Individualsignatur zusammen. Die Grundsignatur wird von der Individualsignatur im OPAC durch '/' getrennt, auf dem Signaturaufkleber am Buch durch einen waagerechten Strich. (...) Die eindeutige Kennzeichnung eines Buches wird durch die Individualsignatur erreicht. Sie wird durch den Anfangsbuchstaben des Titels gefolgt von zwei Ziffern gebildet. Bei mehrbändigen Werken folgt dann nach '-' die Bandangabe. Existieren mehrere Auflagen des Buches wird die Auflage in Klammern angegeben."
